Coronavirus has forced us to change some things at Big Oaks. The state's decision not to set rules doesn't mean we won't have any rules. We're doing all we can to ensure the safety of our workers and customers. The majority of our customers fall into the high-risk category when this virus goes bad, and we don't want that to happen because we chose to have no rules. We want everyone around for a long time, not just 2020.
THE RULES ARE THE RULES. To maximize crowd control and safety, there are no exceptions to the rules. We'll continue to make adjustments as the summer goes forward, but these things won't change.
BOOK A TEE TIME BY PHONE BEFORE COMING TO BIG OAKS OR IN PERSON ON YOUR WAY OUR. Pre-payment is not required. Let us know your name and the size of the party. Groups tee off every 12 minutes at our busiest.
THE GROUP MAXIMUM IS FOUR. To ensure safe spacing of individuals and groups, groups larger than four will be put on different courses.
WE HAVE LIMITED RESOURCES. There may be times when the course becomes backed up. There may be times when we’re out of carts. We’ll do everything we can to honor every reservation, but it won't always be seamless. We're trying. Bear with us.
ONE CUSTOMER IN THE CLUBHOUSE AT A TIME. You can pay for golf and beverages at the side window by the putting green. Please ask if the bathroom is available. It usually is, but we're trying to minimize the time strangers are inside together, especially since everyone is suddenly acting like such a baby about wearing a mask 10 minutes a day.
MAX CAPACITY WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE AMOUNT OF FULL CUSTOMER PARKING SPOTS. There's essentially an invisible line between the clubhouse and the courthouse. When customer spots are full, the course is full. The rest of the parking lot is reserved for worker parking, equipment, and workspace.
THE PARKING DO-NOT LIST:
- do not invent spots
- do not park on the grass
- do not drive around cones
- do not drive through or over bushes
- do not move physical barriers
- do not park dangerously close to and/or in wetlands
- do not leave your car in areas marked for golf carts
(If you ever wonder why so many of our carts wind up trashed so quickly, remember that some customers violate items on the do-not list with their own personal vehicles. Smh.)
WE MIGHT ASK YOU TO COME BACK IN A BIT IF YOU HAVE A MIDDAY WEEKEND TEE TIME. A lot of times the parking lot fills up around lunch. It's impossible to know exactly when our early morning tee times will finish, so it's impossible to know exactly when the midday wave of players can tee off. We're pretty good at estimating, but it's not an exact science. So if we ask you to come back, cruise down to Sheridan Rd and back with the windows down.
SOCIAL DISTANCING RULES ARE IN PLACE. Please stay 6 feet away from each other. Don’t make contact with people who aren’t members of your household. Don’t touch random things on the course. Use common sense. The worst of the pandemic seems to be over, but the pandemic is not over.
THE PUTTING GREEN IS OPEN. Three people can use the putting green at a time. Wear a mask if you think you'll use the putting green for more than a few minutes.
Thanks for visiting the Big Oaks website. We hope to see you soon!
